Cairo city break, a fantastic weekend holiday to Cairo ancient and modern sites with great shopping tours through Cairo famous bazaars. During this vacation, enjoy the Giza pyramids, Sakkara Complex, with a night foodie tour to Cairo famous culinary dishes, in addition to Cairo tour to Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel including Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque , Coptic Cairo churches, Ben Ezra Synagogue and walk through Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Take a day trip to Al Fayoum city for a full day of adventure between the desert dunes, the city greenery villages and get the chance to take a pottery class.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Cairo

Welcome to Egypt. Upon your arrival to our representative will greet you with “Noot” sign and escort you through immigration, customs and baggage claim. Afterwards  Noot travel representative will help you connect with your private transfer.

Enjoy a private airport transfer to your hotel.

Day 2Giza Pyramids & Egyptian Museum

Head to the Giza Plateau where we will be face-to-face with the last remaining of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. The great Pyramid of King Cheops (c. 27 BC) will welcome us with its unbelievable height and grandeur. Nearby, we will gaze at the other two brilliantly-built pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. On the Giza Plateau, we will see from afar the colossal and enigmatic Great Sphinx that represents King Cheops in the figure of a lion. Then, we will learn more about the traditional techniques used by ancient Egyptians to make astonishing products using papyrus.

Next, it will be time to satisfy our appetite with mouth-watering lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant over looking the Pyramids, enjoy the view while feasting after which we will head to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to admire the breath-taking and valuable treasures showcased in its different halls, especially the treasure of the Boy King, the Golden King Tutankhamun. At the end of the day, we will get back to the hotel and stay overnight in Cairo.

At night, you are opt for a foodie tour in Downtown of Cairo. Learn about the history of Downtown Cairo and its amazing architecture while sampling and tasting 7-8 different local Egyptian food on walking tour.

Day 3Fayoum Adventure

Prepare to leave the city’s rush and bustle behind and relax in Fayoum’s peace and calm. Fayoum itself is vast and full of amazing activities and sites, ranging from desert camping and trips to the magnificent Magic Lake to the Wadi el Rayan waterfalls and Wadi el Hitan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Valley of the Whales).
Starting with a peaceful morning in Tunis village, where we will have our oriental breakfast. Then we’ll have a genuine walk around the village neighborhood, where you might see pottery being made, as Tunis Village is famous for its beautiful pottery, much of which is shipped to Cairo and sold there. There are various tiny pottery workshops, as well as a Pottery School, dispersed over the area.
Exploring Whale Valley in the western desert, which includes priceless fossil remnants of the planet’s earliest, now-extinct species. Not to mention the magical lake, but also the Egyptian Desert’s splendour, the luring Wadi El Rayan waterfalls, and the towering Mudawara Mountains. After that, we’ll do dune bashing and sandboarding before eating our lunch. And finally, as our journey comes to an end, we will depart for Cairo

Day 4Coptic & Islamic Cairo

Today we explore old Cairo, first we visit ancient sites and culture of Coptic Christians. Visit the hanging church, built into the walls of the water gate of the Roman fortress and is possibly the oldest Christian church in Egypt. Continue to the Monastery and Church of St George, dating from 1909, and is one of the few remaining circular churches in the Middle East. Famous for its 24 marble columns lining the central court, and a series of 12th-century icons depicting the 12 apostles. 

Your next stop is the Abu Serga, one of the places where the Holy Family rested after fleeing the Holy lands from King Herod. At the turn of the century this little church, which dates from the 10th-century, was the most important pilgrimage spot in Old Cairo for visiting Christian tourists. Afterwards visit Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest Jewish synagogue in Egypt.

Later on, visit Cairo citadel; medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din and one of the most iconic monuments in Islamic Cairo. Inside the citadel you will visit the Alabaster mosque of Muhamed Ali Pasha. 

Continue driving to the area of Islamic Cairo, where you will be able to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant

Day 5Goodbye Cairo

Today marks your last day in your little adventure in Cairo. After breakfast you check out and you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
