In this trip we will take you to modern day Egypt to follow what is believed to be the route taken by prophet Moses and Israelites during their exodus from Egypt to the wilderness of Sinai and land of Madian in modern day Saudi Arabia

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Cairo

Welcome to cairo, Upon your arrival to Cairo international airport our team will pick you up and get transferred in a private A/C vehicle to your chosen hotel.

Day 2Saqqara & Giza Pyramids

Head out after breakfast on a guided tour to the world’s oldest complete stone building complex in Saqqara. Gaze on the step pyramid of Zoser, Also, visit the museum of Imhotep and learn about the “theories” that links Imhotep the builder of Saqqara pyramid to Joseph, the Biblical savior of the Pharaoh and Egypt from famine.

Afterwards head to Giza plateue. Visit the great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Explore these structures that have stood tall for 4500 years, and for the adventurer souls you may be able to go inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Then observe the nearby Great Sphinx. Next feast your stomach with a delicious lunch overlooking the pyramids then go to a nearby papyrus institute to learn how Egyptians used the stem of the papyrus plant to make sails, cloth, mats, cords, and, above all, paper, sample some papyrus papers then.

End the day with a visit to the civilization museum and visit the royal mummies room, learn about the theories that suggests that King Ramsses II was the pharaoh during the exodus.

Day 3Land of Goshen

Leave Cairo behind and embark on a 3 hours journey into the fertile land of Goshen in the eastern Nile Delta region. We will visit the archaeological site of ancient Tanis. Many believe that this was the Biblical city fknows as Pr-Ramses in the book of Exodus, but many will also remember it as the location where Indiana Jones discovered the ‘Lost Ark’ in the movie.

On our expedition we will also see the ruins of Bubastis, the capital of Egypt in the 22nd dynasty, and believed to be the access to the land of Goshen. Afterwards we return back to Cairo

Day 4Egyptian Museum & Cave Church of baby Jesus

This morning, join your Egyptologist for an exploration of the Egyptian Museum to view its huge collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the glittering treasures of Tutankhamunthen as well as Merenpetah Stella which represents the earliest textual reference to Israel in ancient Egypt.

Move to old Cairo, visit its historical churches including the hanging church and Abu Serga Church which is supposedly built over a crypt that is revered as a shelter used by the Holy Family. Next to it lies Ben Ezra Synagouge the oldest Jewish temple in Cairo, which traditions also mark it as the place where the pharaoh’s daughter found Moses in the reeds. 

Afterwards head to Cairo airport for domestic flight to Sharm el Sheakh. Enjoy a private transfer to your hotel in Nuwebaa

Day 5Red Sea Crossing

Breakfast at the hotel then check out and visit Saint Catherine’s Monastery which contains the world’s oldest continually operating library, possessing many unique books such as the Codex Sinaiticus. Moreover view the tradionally acclaimed Mount Sinai in Egypt.

Afterwards see the exit point of the Red Sea crossing across from Nuweiba. After crossing the sea by ferry you will ride 4×4 vehicle into the heartland of Midian on a path the Israelites could have taken as they looked for water.

Day 6Land of Madian, Moses Well & Valley

“Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.” (Exodus 15:27)

Embark in an adventure to explore the aclaimed site of Elim 1 in land of Madian in Tabuk region nowadays.  Explore this lush oasis surrounded by red-colored mountains. Learn about the theories that belives that this beautiful palm tree oasis with its 12 wells of water is the location of Elim mentioned in the exodus journey
Continue to the homeland of Jethro and the location of the Well of Moses where he met the daughters of Jethro. See the ancient ruins going back to Midianite times at this important oasis. Visit the Nabatean tombs named after Jethro.

Day 8The Golden Calf

Today you will explore the site of the Golden Calf Altar. According to the Bible, when Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, he left the Israelites for forty days and forty nights. Fearing that he would not return, they demanded that Aaron make them “a god to go before them.” Aaron gathered up the Israelites’ golden earrings and ornaments, fashioned a golden calf, and declared: “This is your god, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt. This is the site where, according to scholars, these tragic events took place. 

Today we camp at a luxurious Bedouin camp at the foot hills of Jabal Al Lawz.

Day 7Jabal Al Lawz & Split Rock

Is Jabal Maqla in the mountain range of Jabal al Lawz in the Land of Midian the locatiion of the real Mount Sinai? Today we hike this magnificent mountain with its summit at 2,549 meters above sea level. Jebel Al-Lawz is the highest mountain of Tabuk Province and the only place in Saudi Arabia where snow falls nearly every year.

Afterwards we visit the giant split rock sitting high on a hill very lose to Jabal al Lawz mountain. Many believes that this is the Rock of Horeb that Moses struck and rivers of water poured out to quench the thirst of his people.

Day 9Wadi Disah to AlUla

Check out from your hotel in Tabuk and  embark on a guided tour of Wadi El Disa, immersing ourselves in the scenic beauty and unique features of this valley. Let its beauty and tranquility leave an indelible mark on your memories.

Enjoy a local lunch then travel by car to Al Ula  city, your gate to the Nabatean civilization.

Check in at your luxury hotel, then at sunset head to the elephant rock, one of Al Ula’s many geological wonders. Within walking distance there is a lounge area with a café and drinks where you can relax and enjoy the scenery

Day 10Hegra & Madain Saleh

Your day starts with a tour to Madain Saleh (AKA Hegra), famous for its 111 monumental tombs, among which 94 were decorated with majestic facades on the sandstone massifs of the area, especially the Jibal Ithlib. The smallest tomb is barely 2,7 meters tall but the biggest reaches an impressive 21,5 meters! Madain Saleh was the second largest city of the Nabatean kingdom whose capital was Petra (in today’s Jordan) where the Nabatean people created more than 600 tombs.

Dine in at a local restaurant then its Tim to explore a hidden gem of AlUla with a visit to an Oasis in the middle of the desert, afterwards head to a steep point for a breathtaking view of AlUla valley

Day 11Ancient Civilization of AlUla

Explore the ancient oasis of Dedan, that was once the capital of one the oldest kingdoms of Arabia, along with Tayma. The city benefited from both its strategic location along the ancient frankincense trade road between ancient Yemen and the Levant and the abundant underground water resources.

Explore this archeological site and learn how they developed their own culture including a specific language and alphabet, that resulted in a mix of Arabian traditions and strong influences from the surrounding empires.

Next visit to the old town of AlUla. In the 12th century, AlUla Old town became an essential settlement along the pilgrimage route from Damascus to Makkah and was favorably mentioned by travelers from the 12th to the 20th centuries. Afterwards visit AlJadida town literally mean the new town where its houses were designed to be attached to one another, providing fortification, which hints to defense being a priority for the city’s early inhabitants.

Day 12Goodbye Arabia

Today where we say goodbye to your expedition. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule.
